Example Project: Cape Espenberg
Cape Espenberg research focuses on deciphering paleoenvironmental conditions impacting early humans who lived in the region approximately 1000 years ago. Research includes developing sediment derived sea-level storm records, and mapping paleo-shorelines in the vicinity of an ancient Inupiaq village site. The National Science Foundation funds this research and is a collaboration between the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the University of Paris, the National Park Service, and others.
